Rules for Government members
Not only Members of Parliament (MPs), but all members of government and government employees have always been considered to have higher status and privileges in Sri Lanka. This train of thought must change and every civil servant must be reminded of who they work for!
All these people are paid from the public treasury, money that belongs to the people of Sri Lanka. Therefore, the population must be considered the employer, above anyone, politician or otherwise, being paid from the public treasury. All these officials are simply the employees of the Sri Lankan people.
First, there should be a rigorous and independent selection of all public employees and officials. They should be evaluated and hired based on their skills and qualifications rather than who they know. The same goes for political candidates; they should all go through the scrutiny of a geniocratic process.
Anyone involved in corruption, collusion, bribery or any other criminal activity shall be banned for life from any paid public office or function. Private political campaigning should be banned and only done through an independent official organization.
As paid by the people of Sri Lanka, all public employees (MPs and members of the government included), should be paid the same minimum wage offered to the population, without any perks, benefits or advantages (house, car, restaurant, servants...), other than what is already been offered to the public.
All public employees, deputies, members of government, including the president, must be held accountable for all their actions and decisions. No more immunity than the population is entitled to.
Every public project, contract bid, or expenditure of public funds should be automatically administered with 100% transparency, through a public ledger (Blockchain technology that includes quotes and contract selections). Allocation of public funds to friends, relatives, family members or front companies would not be possible without valid and solid justification to the public for their approval.
Thanks to computing (information technology), A.I. (Artificial Intelligence), a 100% digital Crypto-Commodity currency and Blockchain technology, it will be possible to have more than 80% of all government administrative tasks carried out automatically.
This would include most services to the public that would be done automatically, remotely, and instantly. No more queuing in government buildings.
Consequently, more than 80% of all government buildings and employees will be reassigned to perform other functions, mainly as for nationalized enterprises.
